Minimal signage from the main road and a short walk over rough ground keep visitor numbers very low even in peak season. Skiadeni Beach

Accessible via the remote village of Lachania in the far south of Rhodes, Skiadeni is a wild stretch of sand and dunes that receives almost no tourists despite being one of the most naturally beautiful beaches on the island. The track from Lachania is rough and the walk to the beach itself takes fifteen minutes through scrubland, but the reward is a vast empty beach with wild dune systems, clear water, and complete silence. Mavrikia Beach

Tucked behind the village of Charaki on the east coast, Mavrikia is a small sandy beach accessible via a fifteen-minute walk along the coast that the vast majority of Charaki visitors never attempt. The beach itself is modest but the water is excellent and the complete absence of sun beds, beach bars, and organised services gives it a private quality that the small Charaki beach in the village does not. The walk along the rocky coastal path offers views back to the Venetian castle of Feraklos above Charaki, adding a scenic dimension to the short excursion. Early morning or late afternoon visits, when the light on the surrounding headlands is at its most dramatic, are strongly recommended.
