The beach is a narrow estuary shore where local fishermen bring their boats ashore and the residents of the neighbourhood have been swimming since childhood — warm, calm estuary water, a modest fishing quay, and a bar serving cold Sagres beer and fresh sardines to a crowd that is entirely and exclusively local.
