Thirty kilometres north of El Nido town on a partially sealed road, Nacpan Beach is one of Palawan's most beautiful stretches of undeveloped coastline. On weekdays outside the peak season, the four-kilometre beach is occupied by just a handful of visitors, giving it an emptiness that feels almost surreal given its quality. A few bamboo beach bars provide cold drinks and simple meals, but most of the beach is completely natural — just white sand, palm trees, and the steady rhythm of the South China Sea. The drive from El Nido through coconut groves and local villages is a pleasure in itself.
Hidden Beach (Tour C)
Accessible only by boat as part of El Nido's Tour C circuit, Hidden Beach lives up to its name — a small sandy cove concealed behind a series of limestone outcrops that can only be reached by swimming through a narrow channel. Because it requires a boat tour to reach, it sees fewer visitors than the lagoons of Tour A, and arriving at the tail end of the day, after the majority of tour boats have turned for home, often means having the beach entirely to yourself. The snorkelling in the surrounding reef is exceptional, and the enclosing limestone walls create an acoustically peaceful environment of striking beauty.
Pinagbuyutan Island
The final stop on El Nido's Tour D circuit, Pinagbuyutan — sometimes called Helicopter Island for its shape when viewed from above — is blessed with a pristine beach and excellent reef snorkelling. Most tour boats arrive in the early afternoon and depart by 3 PM, leaving the island in near-complete silence for any remaining visitors. The beach curves around the island's base in both directions, and the quietest sections require only a short walk from the main landing point.
