Garto Beach Resort Samui is a small beachfront resort of private villas on Laem Yai Beach, in the Ang Thong area of Bang Por, on the quiet western side of Koh Samui, Thailand. It has a private beach area, a year-round outdoor swimming pool with a separate kids' pool, and a garden with a sun terrace. Guests describe it as a calm, family-run place away from the busy tourist strips.

There are four villa types: a One-Bedroom Villa with a king bed, a Two-Bedroom Villa, a Two-Bedroom Villa Beach Front and a 2 Bedroom Private Pool Villa (the two-bedroom villas have two king beds and sleep up to 5 guests). Every villa has air-conditioning, a private bathroom with shower and hairdryer, a kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator and electric kettle, a dining area, a living area with sofa, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a desk and a patio or terrace. Several units have sea views, and all are on the ground floor.

On site you will find free private parking, free Wi-Fi in all areas (guests rate it 7.5/10, so do not count on it for heavy remote work), an Asian-style breakfast that guests single out for its generous portions, bicycle rental, a children's playground, beach umbrellas and loungers, daily housekeeping, baggage storage, 24-hour security and CCTV in common areas. Staff speak English and Thai. The property is smoke-free; pets and parties are not allowed.

Bang Makham Beach is 0.8 mi away (about a 15-minute walk) and Bang Po Beach 1.8 mi. Hin Lad Waterfall is 6 mi away, Angthong National Marine Park 12 mi and Samui International Airport 11 mi; the centre of Ban Bang Po is 2.2 mi. A cafe-bar (Cocorum, 2,650 ft) and a few restaurants are within about a mile, but several guests note that a scooter or car is needed to explore the island, and the resort can help book trips and scooters.
