Best Beaches in Krabi | Thailand Beach Guide
Krabi Province is Thailand's most dramatic coastal landscape — a place where the jungle meets the sea at the base of sheer limestone karst towers that erupt from emerald-green water. Stretching across 4,708 square kilometres of southern Thailand's Andaman Coast, Krabi encompasses over 150 islands, 154 kilometres of coastline, and some of the most celebrated beaches in the world, including the picture-perfect Railay Beach — accessible only by longtail boat — and the famous Maya Bay on Ko Phi Phi Leh.
The province rewards different kinds of travellers. Rock climbers come from across the world to tackle the 700+ bolted routes on Railay's limestone walls. Snorkellers and divers explore the underwater world around Ko Phi Phi. Kayakers glide through the mangroves of Ao Thalane. Families enjoy the sheltered waters of Ao Nang Beach and the proximity to Tiger Cave Temple.
The best time to visit Krabi is November to April, the dry season, when the Andaman Sea is calm and visibility underwater reaches 20 metres. May through October brings the southwest monsoon with heavier rain and choppier seas, but also dramatically lower prices — many resorts cut rates by 40–60%.
