On this day I woke up with João and Natalie at home and, after breakfast, we went into Porto by train. João stayed at Campanhã to catch the bus to Coimbra and I carried on to São Bento with Natalie.

Once in Porto, we went to get Natalie's passport stamped, since, as I said in the 1st day's stage, she had taken the metro from Trindade to Sete Bicas, cutting out part of the route, so she decided to do what was missing.

She made that cut because she'd been given wrong information by a friend who had walked the Camino and who had also taken the metro at the start after reading in some guidebook that the Douro riverside to the river mouth wasn't pretty.

On the way I explained to her that what she'd been told wasn't true and it was agreed that, when we got to Porto, she would do that part of the route, and she has now confirmed it: what she'd been told was completely false.

So, after a coffee by the upper deck of the Ponte D. Luís, we started the walk by crossing the bridge to Gaia to see the views and then came down the bridge to cross back over by the lower deck and follow the Douro riverside, where we stopped again, already near the Museu do Carro Eléctrico, for an alcohol-free beer and a codfish cake.

Then we continued walking to the mouth of the Douro, where we stopped for a lunch of grilled fish at a terrace by the river. After that we walked a bit further to Avenida do Brasil, where we stopped for one last toast and goodbye, as it was getting time for Natalie to catch her flight home.

And so I end the diary of my adventure on the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, there were many adventures and encounters and many laughs and smiles.

The verdict is very positive and I can only thank everyone who was part of this journey of mine, they are João, Natalie, Cláudia, Anne, Christian, Anastasia, Sule, Daria, Mariola, Mira, Sílvia, Benilde and Eve.
